UK snow maps show the exact date a massive sheet of snow covers most of the UK, with heavy snow of as much as 38cm in some parts. February has been a wintry month for much of the country so far, with rain and strong winds experienced by many Brits. Snow has fallen in some parts, as the Met Office previously warned of snowfall on multiple days throughout the month of February. While snow can be hard to predict, the latest maps show 90% of the country covered on Monday, February 23.
The heaviest hit areas, as per usual, are in the north of the country in Scotland and the North of England. Heavy snow is expected in cities such as Aberdeen and Edinburgh in Scotland, while the hardest-hit cities in England are expected to be the likes of Newcastle and Carlisle. Temperatures are also expected to be relatively low, marking a prolonged stretch of chilly weather as we patiently await the arrival of spring and brighter days.

Separately the Met Office has warned of unsettled weather for the remainder of February. Its current forecast says that “broadly changeable conditions are expected across the UK” from Monday, February 23.
“Low pressure systems will probably dominate, meaning showers or longer spells of rain, heavy at times, for much of the UK, and still the chance of some hill snow in the north,” the forecast reads. “Some drier interludes are likely, though it must be said, flooding impacts remain possible given recent very wet weather.
“Windy conditions look probable from time to time. Temperatures probably close to or a little above average overall, with a reduced chance, compared to earlier thinking, of a late season prolonged cold spell.”
