Pictures have emerged of graffiti spray-painted outside Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner‘s Hove flat, with the words “tax evader” scribed on a wall.

Her spokesperson branded the graffiti “beyond the pale” adding that “Neither Angela nor her neighbours deserve to be subjected to harassment and intimidation.”

Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister, also condemned the vandalism, with a spokesman saying: “Some of you may have seen the photos of the vandalism of the Deputy Prime Minister’s home this morning.

“The Prime Minister condemns this vandalism in the strongest possible terms.

“Whatever scrutiny our parliamentarians may face, it is appalling that their private homes should be targeted in this way.”

Rayner, who reportedly spent a chunk of her disabled sons NHS compensation on her second home, is facing growing calls to quit after it emerged she failed to pay enough stamp duty on her property.

The property, which cost £800,000, in Hove, East Sussex, has been daubed with graffiti branding her a “tax evader”.

But top Labour Ministers have rallied around the embattled Deputy PM, with Chancellor Rachel Reeves saying she had “full confidence” in her “good friend and collegue.”

Last night it was reported by the Telegraph that Rayner had used £160,000 from a trust fund that has been set up to care for her disabled child, to purchase the house in Hove, which is now embroiled in a sleaze enquiry.

She has also drawn criticism today after it emerged she pocketed £1,100 in free tickets just days before her flat scandal broke. Rayner took expensive tickets to Brighton parade, the town near her new home.

Yesterday, the leader of the Opposition, Kemi Badenoch, called for Rayner to be sacked, amid accusations of hypocrisy, as minsters could be considering chaning property tax in the forthcoming autumn budget.
