State pensioners may notice unusual payments appearing in their bank accounts over the coming days due to the August bank holiday affecting payment schedules.
Some individuals will find their payments arriving at different times, leading to a warning for those expecting to receive their pension payments on the bank holiday, Monday, August 25. Instead, these people should expect to receive their payments on Friday, August 22, the nearest working day prior. Experts suggest people make plans to ensure their money lasts longer than usual due to the early payments, and that all bills are covered.

All Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) payments due on the Bank Holiday, including Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), as well as the state pension, will be affected as DWP payments are not processed on bank holidays, reports Birmingham Live.
However, those whose payment dates do not fall on this date will not be impacted and should receive their money as usual.
A spokesperson for Spencer Churchill said: “It’s vital that pensioners and benefit claimants are aware of any changes to their payment dates, especially around bank holidays.
“Missing a payment due to a simple oversight can cause unnecessary stress, particularly for those living on a fixed income.
“Receiving your payment earlier might seem like a good thing, but it also means that you’ll have to stretch that money further until the next instalment.”
