Santander is to close branches across the UK this year as multiple high street banks and other brands are impacted by the decline of the high street. Earlier this year, Santander announced 95 closures across the country
The bank’s statement added: “Closing a branch is always a very difficult decision, and we spend a great deal of time assessing where and when we do this and how to minimise the impact it may have on our customers.” The bank also said that 750 jobs would be at risk of redundancy. The branches will be closed during the months of June, July, and August.
