The classic Kellogg’s cereal will not return to UK supermarkets

Kellogg’s has discontinued a beloved cereal after a mass recall. The chocolate-flavoured Corn Flakes will not be returning to supermarkets after a year away, leaving fans devastated.
The cereal company recalled the breakfast staple last May due to a “small proportion” of boxes containing “hard lumps of cereal that do not break down when eaten with milk”. This meant there was a “minimal risk” these hard lumps could potentially be a choking ridk or cause dental damage. They had only been on shelves for five months, having been brought back after more than a decade away. Kellogg’s chocolate Corn Flakes contained the same traditional flakes but coated with cocoa to create a crunchy texture with a chocolatey twist. This is different from the previous chocolate Corn Flakes, which were coated in chocolate, rather than cocoa.

Writing on X, one user said: “Did @KelloggsUKI discontinue chocolate cornflakes again?”. Another wrote: “I know you recalled chocolate cornflakes, but are they ever going to be back again, they were only brought back for a few weeks then re called.”
A third posted: “Any idea when your chocolate cornflakes are coming back in store?”
This comes after rumours started swirling online earlier this week that the cereal was due to make a return to shelves. Shoppers were really excited, with one writing: “glad to hear it”. Another wrote: “When when when?!!” A third said: “YES they were 10/10.”
But a Kellogg’s spokesman said: “We love that Kellogg’s fans are so passionate about their favourite cereals and we’re proud to be a part of millions of people’s breakfasts each morning in the UK.
“We can never say never, but while there are no current plans to bring back Chocolate Corn Flakes, we do have lots of other exciting new products out now, like Kellogg’s Oaties and Bluey Multigrain cereal, with more coming next year for cereal lovers to try.”
Chocolate Corn Flakes are not the only cereal to be discontinued by Kellogg’s recently. The company also axed Al Bran Golden Crunch and the multipack of Frosties. Similarly, Weetabix has got rid of Alpen cereal bars, Tesco dropped its own-brand apricot wheats, and Nestle ditched Vanilla O’s and Golden Grahams.
