Keir Starmer unleashed a pointless word salad
At an event held at Pinewood Studios yesterday our woeful PM planted himself on the podium delivering a speech that, for want of a better description, amounted to a reset pledge of Labour government policy. There stood that constipated po faced Womblesque likeness of Bungo preaching to the masses.
I had to h ave a titter at the brief summary offered beforehand because his policy in opposition was always very lacking in substance. He was very vociferous about what he didn’t agree with and usually displayed an uncanny ability to flip flop on what he did and didn’t like. You see, it all rather depended on which way the wind was blowing, or what resonated best with the public.
Our feckless leader says…“Hard-working Brits are going out grafting every day but are getting short shrift from a politics that should serve them”. Hard to find fault with that one, but for inevitably very different reasons, Possums.
“They reasonably want a stable economy; their country to be safe; their borders secure; more cash in their pocket; safer streets in their town; opportunities for their children; secure British energy in their home; and an NHS that is there when they need it. My mission-led government will deliver,” he proclaimed.
Paroxysms of mirth must be deafening on that one. Hard working Brits “reasonably” want a stable economy. Really? You don’t say? But how do you think you can deliver that when you hike taxes and NI rates that does nothing to stimulate the economic growth you say you can deliver, Prime Minister?
Wealth, which is the basic measure of prosperity, doesn’t get created by waving a magic wand. In fact, it’s hard to think of a bigger disincentive to the vital engines of growth when you clobber them with higher tax whilst at the same time awarding public sector workers inflation busting pay increases.
Higher taxes mean less disposable income; higher taxes and NI mean prices go up which shrinks spending; a drop in consumer spending inevitably leads to lower income yields for manufacturers and service providers. Where’s the growth coming from that is supposed to propel this country into best economic performer in the G7?
The country to be safe? Well, that’s going to remain a pipe dream so long as you maintain and promote an effective two-tier justice system. I also saw, to my horror, reference made today about that horrible little weasel, Sadiq Khan, perhaps receiving a gong in the new year’s honours. How does Sir Sadiq sound when it’s been awarded amidst rampant knife crime spiralling out of control, fleecing motorists with ULEZ, and general ineptitude?
Secure borders? Not much evidence of any serious effort to address that one either, is there? The boats are still coming, migrants continue to be extensively accommodated in hotels, getting first priority health care along with other benefits and we have to pay for it.
Did it perhaps ever occur to any of these morons now in government that maybe, just maybe, these migrants coming here uninvited are coming because they know the British taxpayer will fund a comfortable life for them? It’s certainly better than anything remotely imaginable in their own countries, isn’t it?
Opportunities for children? Not a chance if Labour keeps up excessive borrowing triggering their habitual tax and spend routine. VAT on private school fees is another ill-advised policy that was never properly thought through, and it was never properly assessed in the first place either. More wokery, supplemented with identity political indoctrination virtue signall ing to less than one percent of the population.
Secure British Energy? That’s a joke with sky high energy prices now and the cost of renewables set to be even higher. Blanketing what’s left of our agricultural land after family farmers are forced to sell up because of inheritance tax and increased death duties is a recipe for disaster.
Quick question is how do you enhance food security if the land that could actually support food production is covered in vast swathes of wind turbines and solar panels? Of course, Islington champagne socialists have no idea of the real world beyond their surreal existence in the ranks of wider North London domiciled wokery.
Whilst insisting his targets were bold The PM said: “The job of these milestones is to take our country forward, drive reform through the public sector. It’s not about making the Government look good. So yes, they are risky for us. Country first, party second – because this is something we’ve totally lost sight of in British politics.”
This rubbish beggars belief. How do you drive “reform” through the public sector? More specifically, how on earth do you stimulate, generate, and maintain economic growth through the public sector populated by civil servants, bureaucrats, and quangos?
The real engines of growth are found in the private sector; they’re small businesses; they’re multinational conglomerates making substantial fixed investments that create jobs.
This approach consequentially widens the tax base from which funding is then available to provide the public services we need. What is so hard about using basic common sense in understanding this?
Two-Tier is now 5 months into his premiership and there’s sweet blow all to show for it. The bleating about the mythical twenty-two billion black hole and other supposed shortcomings weren’t credible at the time Tory primarily due to gross politically expedient contextual inaccuracy.
Whilst there was clear Tory ineptitude in many instances, one must also remember a thing called Covid and that Labour incompetence far exceeds anything of the worst for which the Tories were responsible. The available evidence is undeniable!
You’ve lost the plot, Prime Minister. Very few people either take you at your word, or indeed take you seriously at all anymore. And we’ve got four and half more years of this?
God help us!
