TalkTV was paused this morning (Monday, March 2) as the UK terror threat is “absolutely” under review following the strike in Iran, according to the Secretary of State for Defence. Host Jeremy Kyle invited Reform’s Deputy Leader Richard Tice onto the news programme to address how the recent strikes against Iran by the US and Israel, which sparked counterattacks by Tehran on cities in the Middle East and Israel, have sparked concern that terror may be used to retaliate by the Iranian regime. Tice was quick to express his fury over Prime Minister Keir Starmer‘s “slow” reaction, telling viewers, “we’ve been humiliated”.

He continued: “We’ve talked about the proxies attacking our allies and friends in Israel and beyond. The attacks here in the UK, we talk about the Manchester Arena bombings and, of course, the cyber attacks designed to destabilise, damage and undermine us.
“At every level, this actually, this is a once-in-a-50-year moment – a history-making moment, and we should be standing shoulder to shoulder with the Americans, with the Israelis. That’s what I have made very clear over the weekend.
“Instead, now, we’ve been humiliated as cowards on the international stage that our allies cannot rely upon and cannot trust. I think tens of millions of British people will be utterly appalled.”
His comments come after Starmer said Iran’s approach was putting British lives at risk which lead to the move to allow the USA to use two of the nation’s military bases.
Stating that some 200,000 British people are in the Middle Eastern nations being targeted by Iran, the Prime Minister said last night (Sunday, March 1): “The only way to stop the threat is to destroy the missiles at source in their storage depots or the launchers which are used to fire the missiles. The US has requested permission to use British bases for that specific and limited defensive purpose.”
Responding to Tice’s comments on TalkTV about the situation on X, one person wrote: “The White Feather of Shame is awarded to PM Keir Starmer for conspicuous moral cowardice in refusing firm support for our allies’ campaign against the terrorist regime in Iran.”
A second added: “We have no ability to stop and smash the gangs, so how can we take on the Middle East?” However, someone else claimed: “Tice doesn’t give two f**ks about Britain.”
TalkTV airs daily on YouTube and Freeview.
