GB News presenter Patrick Christys certainly didn’t hold back as he hit out at Keir Starmer after he joined the European leaders at the White House this week
GB News presenter Patrick Christys certainly didn’t mince his words as he hit out at Keir Starmer moments into his late-night show. On Monday (August 19), the 33-year-old broadcaster opened the show with his explosive thoughts on the news that European leaders joined President Trump and Zeleksnky at the White House for dinner. Donald Trump’s hosting of European leaders has been a flurry of diplomacy to find a path to peace in Ukraine.
Their meeting comes just days after his summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, where he continued to make headway in a years-long conflict between the two warring nations that the Republican leader once said he could solve in 24 hours. After the political dinner party at the White House, the Trump revealed that Putin has agreed to face-to-face talks with the Ukrainian leader.

Zelensky has welcomed the news, calling it a “big step forward” towards securing a peace deal. But French president Emmanuel Macron said he has “serious doubts” about Putin’s desire for peace and German chancellor Friedrich Merz also expressed doubt, saying he didn’t know whether the Russian president would have “the courage to attend such a summit”.
Breaking the news about the dinner with the European leaders at the White House, Patrick began: “The Times has just reported that actually the European leaders are going to stay for dinner, because 20 minutes ago they weren’t, they were leaving, but now they’re going to stay for dinner.”
It was at this point his guest Cristo Foufas chuckled: “Keir Starmer will be serving and clearing away the plates” as the broadcaster piled on: “Yes, he’ll be serving up and will say, ‘Hello, here’s a bed of lies’.”
It didn’t take long before fans flooded to X – formerly known as Twitter – to poke fun at the blistering jab online, with one user chuckling: “Funny if Starmer gets served only bacon”.

Patrick then asked his other guest Benjamin Butterworth about his thoughts on the developments, to which he replied: “I mean I think that tea party at the White House shows how vulnerable the situation is.
“The idea that you’ve got a US president toying with Europe’s borders and us not seeming to be able to have any say. I think we don’t appreciate how dangerous it is because Trump has the temptation of glory far more than the responsibility of history.
“He would do a peace deal that would hand over huge sways of Ukraine because he wants the satisfaction of solving it now.” The host agreed: “We’ve not cared have we? Angela Merkel let two million Syrians into Germany and there’s been disasterous consequences. We snuck Afghans in without telling anyone, oh but now we care about European borders.”
However, Ben pointed out one glaring difference between the two situations, arguing: “Can I just say, there’s a massive difference there, you’re welcome to oppose it, but it was a decision of a democratic government in a democratic country not as someone waging war and murdering your people and trying to steal your minerals.”
Viewers soon returned to X to share their thoughts on the journalist’s dividing comments, with one user stating: “As I understand it, the cost so far has been to the US taxpayer rather than UK or Europe so I guess Trump feels the US already has the momentum. I also accept that is on Europe’s doorstep, but then it always so but they weren’t involved financially.”
Another argued: “Can someone please remind Benjamin that the democratic vote in th eUK was for tightening of borders. The decisions the governments made/ make are in direct contradiction to the vote.” A third chimed in with: “The UK needs fixing and only the Conservatives can do it.”
