The Clarkson Farm star has issued a stark warning to Rachel Reeves, describing the plan as a potential ‘disaster’ for both businesses and families.
Jeremy Clarkson has shared his outrage over Reeve’s plan to increase fuel prices
TV star Jeremy Clarkson is spearheading calls to halt the increase of fuel, urging Rachel Reeves to consider its effects on businesses and families.
The Chancellor is expected to raise fuel duty by 7p in today’s budget, which would add nearly £4 to the cost of filling up an average family car.
The Clarkson’s Farm star and Sun columnist expressed his concerns about the looming fuel hike, sharing: “If you live in Kentish Town, then you are well served by many transport options. If you don’t live in Kentish Town, you aren’t. You need a car.
He concluded: “You need to be able to afford to drive it.”
Meanwhile, Shadow Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said: “Every single one will remember if the Chancellor double-crosses them today.”

Former Cabinet Ministers Dame Priti Patel and Esther McVey also cautioned that a fuel duty increase would significantly impact working people’s finances.
Tory MP Saqib Bhatti criticised the Chancellor’s rumoured tax increases in the Budget, describing them as a “Socialist raid” on ordinary people.
He said: “The least the Chancellor can do is back Britain’s 37million motorists and keep the cost of fuel down this winter by maintaining the Conservatives’ 5p freeze in fuel duty.”
Jeremy’s supporters have rallied behind the star to support his stance. On X, one person said: “How are ordinary people meant to keep funding yet another rise in bills, they’re not driving around for fun and there are often no alternatives. Just because patrol.orices have come down a bit doesn’t make it right at some point they’ll rise again, it will also be inflationary.”
A second person chimed in: “Surely this can’t be right? I was happy to give Labour a chance but all they seem to be doing is hammering everyone from working people to pensioners. This rise will have a big impact on me.This budget is gonna be dire for a lot of people. Some will wonder why they voted for them.”
A third wrote: “That’s because the chancellor and labour are robbing c***s Fuel is already taxed to max!”
