I could almost hear the ghost of Hitler cheering on UK’s anti-Israel activists

It has never been clearer where some among us stand.

I think we can say with reasonable confidence what the Nazi architects of the Holocaust would have made of the efforts of Hamas “fighters” on October 7 two years ago. Monsters like Heinrich Himmler, Adolf Eichmann, most of the black-shirted, skull-and-crossbones badge-wearing upper echelons of the SS… Hitler himself, of course… all would have nodded in warm approval at the indiscriminate slaughter visited on over 1,000 Jewish men, women, children, babies, pensioners and the disabled.

They would have particularly relished the sheer sadism shown, something the SS took a particular pride and interest in. There is a limit on how much detail I can go into here, but we’re talking extreme violence, much of it brazenly and disgustingly sexual. Groins and breasts shot at point-blank range, or simply hacked off after multiple rapes.

Pregnant women shot or stabbed in the stomach. Young girls’ faces sliced off. Little children made to watch their parents forced to their knees and executed with a bullet to the back of the head.

As I say, there’s a limit on how much detail it is fit to print here. But there was worse. Much worse. These families were slaughtered in cold blood simply for being Jewish.

Exactly what the Nazis attempted to do on a near-global scale with their “final solution” of concentration camps, gas chambers, and machine-gun firing squads.

And yet, this Tuesday, here in our freedom-loving, tolerant, (mostly) civilised country, students at British universities celebrated the repulsive terrorist crimes of October 7; crimes against humanity, if ever there were.

One campus marked the atrocities with a “Palestine Bake Sale: Time for Dessert”. Elsewhere, students were encouraged to chant: “Glorious Al-Aqsa flood!” (Hamas’s name for the bloody, sadistic slaughter of October 7.)

Such utter, appalling ignorance in our supposed seats of learning! But how the ghosts of Hitler and his Holocaust henchmen must have clapped and cheered. You could almost hear them, couldn’t you?
