Warm weather is set to hit the UK on June 11 with scorching temperatures of up to 29C expected in some areas, according to the latest charts. Maps from WX Charts show that by 12 noon, the heat bomb will bring the warmest temperatures will be seen in London, Birmingham, Manchester and the east of England which will see around 27C. However, a map from Netweather says temperatures will sit even higher at 29C in the east of England.
Weather graphs have turned a deep, dark red as “heatwave” temperatures blast into Britain thanks to the Iberian jet stream. As for the west coast, temperatures will be cooler at around 17C in Wales, with around 16C to 19C in Devon and Cornwall. In the north, temperatures will range from 21C to 24C while in Scotland even parts of the Highlands will see up to 24C.

It comes as the Met Office is predicting hot spells and an increased chance of thunderstorms during the same period.

Coolest temperatures will be seen in Wales with lows of 15C and some parts of Scotland which will see as low as 15C.
Generally, the east coast will be the warmer side with Brits given the opportunity to make the most of the weather on its beaches.
Maps show that warmer weather will spread across to the UK from Europe with parts of Belgium and the Netherlands around 20C.
The jet stream is a large-scale and high-altitude wind current that brings warm and dry air from the Iberian Peninsula towards the UK.
It can significantly increase temperatures and bring prolonged periods of warm weather.

A long0-range weather forecast from the Met Office for the period between June 11 and and June 25 says: “Changeable weather across the UK with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems moving in from the west interspersed with dry and sunny periods.
“Wetter conditions tending to be towards the northwest of the UK, with the south and southeast likely to see more in the way of dry weather, temperatures are most likely to be near or slightly above normal, perhaps with some hot spells at times, especially across the south.”
It adds that hot spells may be accompanied by an increased chance of thunderstorms.
