It comes just weeks after chaos once again descended on Bournemouth beach, leaving several police officers injured and holidaymakers stunned.

Disturbing footage posted to social media shows topless youths hurling glass bottles and other projectiles at police officers during a violent confrontation near the town’s historic pier on June 30.

According to Dorset Police, the disorder erupted following an earlier fight in the nearby Lower Gardens, where a teenage girl sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital.

In a bid to curb the wave of anti-social behaviour alcohol will be seized and fines will be issued.

Dorset Police said extra patrols would be deployed along the seafront and officers will confiscate alcohol, nitrous oxide and other illegal substances where appropriate. Section 35 dispersal powers will also be used to move individuals away from the area if necessary.
