GB News host Camilla Tominey could barely disguise her fury, as Labour’s Darren Jones confirmed he couldn’t rule out tax rises in the months to come.

Viewers were furious as Labour‘s Chief Secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones made an explosive appearance on GB News today (June 15), with Camilla Tominey demanding that the party “take responsibility” for the precarious economy. Just a day after the government’s spending review on June 11, the bad news hit the headlines: that the UK economy had shrunk by 0.3%.
Camilla previously took aim at Rachel Reeves for the result, which was “0.2% higher than most economists expected”, slamming: “This is as a result of her budget and awful April, isn’t it? This is of the government’s own doing!” Darren insisted that Donald Trump‘s tariff threats had caused chaos, rather than government incompetence – but Camilla wasn’t about to let it go. Darren had recalled that April was the month when Trump first announced his global tariffs, prior to Britain becoming the first, and so far only, country to strike an alternative deal with the USA.

He added that April was also prior to the UK’s new deals with India and the EU, arguing: “It’s no surprise that in that month, the market was suppressed because of not knowing what was going to happen.”
However, Camilla exploded, exclaiming: “You can’t possibly be blaming Donald Trump for the fact that services output is down, production output is down, payroll jobs are down 274,000 from a year ago, the unemployment rate is up [and] inflation is up.”
She repeated: “You can’t possibly be blaming Donald Trump – at least take some responsibility for what has happened to the economy since a budget was announced which imposed a jobs tax via a £25 billion increase in national insurance contributions – that’s not got anything to do with America!”
However, what incensed viewers the most was Darren’s admission that he couldn’t guarantee there wouldn’t be tax rises in the autumn.
One branded him a “liar”, declaring: “A classic example of why the public now detest these diabolical, deceitful politicians so much.”
Another exclaimed: “Darren Jones should resign. He’s a liar and a disgrace to parliament!”
A third groaned: “More Stealth rises coming. £1 trillion a year, apparently isn’t enough.”
A fourth feistily shot back: “Fine… [If Labour can’t rule out tax rises], the British people won’t rule out further Labour wipe-outs in future elections…”
