The mother of a woman who was murdered by an illegal migrant has spoken out on GB News, revealing Keir Starmer is refusing to respond to her letters. The programme came to a halt to announce that Siobhan Whyte – the mother of the late Rhiannon Whyte – has requested a meeting with the prime minister to speak about her daughter’s death, but is yet to hear back.

Rhiannon was killed in October 2024 by Deng Chol Majek, an asylum seeker from Sudan who is believed to have entered the UK by small boat less than three months before the fatal attack. Mother-of-one Rhiannon, 27, was stabbed 23 times with a screwdriver by Majek at Bescot Stadium railway station in Walsall.

Speaking to presenter Alex Armstrong, Siobhan admitted she is no closer to receiving answers than she was since her last appearance on the programme more than one month ago.

Siobhan said she has been “constantly fighting” the government in search of answers, but is yet to receive a response.

Pressed on the number of politicians who have reached out to her, Siobhan clarified: “No. None. None at all.”

She admitted: “I’m angry because it’s like they just don’t care. Everything is brushed under the carpet.”

Siobhan named Jess Phillips, Matt Western and Starmer, confessing: “Not one single person has even given me an apology or just reached out to me. Nothing.”

Although she has written to the prime minister twice, Siobhan has received no response. Shortly after Rhiannon’s death, Siobhan’s other daughter spoke to Phillips, who has not reached out to either of them since.

“I never want to have to face the woman,” Siobhan said. “I want nothing to do with her.”

During her visit to Parliament on Wednesday (March 11), Siobhan spoke to Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp, who she described as “lovely”.

However, Siobhan clarified: “This isn’t about the politics side of it. It’s about getting an answer from somewhere. I don’t want to take it down the political side of everything. I just want answers from Rhiannon, myself, our family and other families going through this.”

Alex highlighted that the Conservatives were in government when the illegal migrant crisis started, leading him to question whether she holds any resentment towards the party.

“I’ve got no bad feelings towards them. Like I said, I don’t want this to be about politics. I just want answers,” Siobhan told the presenter.

Siobhan admitted that Philp did not clarify whether the Conservatives would do anything to help if they were in government, but offered to help her reach the prime minister.

“The one person I want answers off is having nothing to do with us,” Siobhan remarked, agreeing that Starmer has acted “stone cold” towards her.
