GB News interrupted for breaking announcement in blow to Rachel Reeves.uk

GB News was interrupted by a breaking news announcement about the Labour Party’s latest reaction to President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

GB News was halted for a breaking news announcement about the Labour Party’s latest reaction to President Donald Trump‘s sweeping global tariffs. Chancellor Rachel Reeves says the government’s measures to support UK car manufacturers following the tariffs will be a “cool-headed” approach. The President’s tariffs wiped trillions from global stock markets, and the Prime Minister was urged by business leaders not to retaliate. Earlier today, Keir Starmer promised “bold changes” as he announced he would relax rules around electric vehicles following the tariffs.

During a speech in the West Midlands to car manufacturers Jaguar and Land Rover, Rachel insisted that there are “huge opportunities despite the challenges” and commented, “With this government and with me as Chancellor, we have your back.” However, she’s been met with mixed criticism.

One person replied in the comments on X, “More buff and bluster from the PM and @RachelReevesMP but nothing of any real substance. Starmer talks about the ‘huge challenge’ facing us yes fails to put anything forward to change the tide. Empty words from a shallow and empty hack.”

A second user also chimed in, “Panic is starting to settle in with @RachelReevesMP & @Keir_Starmer.” And someone else echoed, “With Reeves as Chancellor we’re finished. She is absolutely hopeless and hasn’t got a clue.”

It comes after President Trump’s ‘Liberation Day’ global tariffs wiped $2.4 trillion from the S&P 500, which suffered its biggest one-day loss since March 2020. The President imposed a new 10 percent tariff on UK goods, with Donald Trump claiming that Sir Keir Starmer “was very happy” with the trade tariffs.

The President has also issued a 25% levy on cars imported to the USA, a major export market for the UK motor industry. According to the BBC, UK opposition parties said the Labour Government’s measures would not be enough to support the car industry.

Meanwhile, Trump’s tariffs have received backlash from within conservative circles, as several GOP senators, including former Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have sided with the Democrats, condemning Trump’s trade action.
