GB News halted its broadcast for a breaking news announcement as amid Iran’s threat to strike Israel with more missiles. The breakfast programme’s regular programming was interrupted as presenters Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond announced Iran’s chilling warning to the UK.

Stephen stated: “Just to bring you some breaking news from the Middle East, Iran has warned the United States, the United Kingdom and France that bases and ships in the region will be targeted if they help to stop Tehran’s strikes on Israel. That’s been reported by Iranian state media in the last few minutes.” This comes after a reported 60 people, including 20 children, were killed in an Israeli attack on a housing complex in Tehran.

Stephen remarked: “Now, of course, that ups the ante somewhat. It seems like such a foolish thing to say, in that the United States are already doing that.

“They already helped intercept some ballistic missiles, as we understand, and President Trump particularly is not going to like that.

As Anne added: “He’s not going to take that lying down, nor should we.” Stephen agreed: “No, he will not. Well, no, we’re not involved at this stage as far as we know. Would it prevent us from doing so? Probably not, you wouldn’t be bullied in that sense.”

His co-star shared: “No, it just shows things are going to escalate over the next couple of days at least and goodness knows when it’ll end.”

According to Iran’s state-run Fars news agency, an unnamed official vowed the strikes on Israel “will continue” and Iran will target US bases in the area.

Tehran launched waves of strikes against Israel overnight. Tel Aviv hit back, firing at dozens of targets in Iran, including air defence positions.

Iran’s threat to strike countries helping Israel counter Tehran comes after its Western leaders call for a de-escalation. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and Germany’s Chancellor Friedrich Merz have all called for calm.

As US President Donald Trump urged Iran to reach a deal with the US on its nuclear program, warning on his Truth Social platform that Israel’s attacks “will only get worse”.
