GB News discussed how Sir Keir Starmer is facing a “disaster” this year. Hosts Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond were at the helm of the news channel’s breakfast show on Saturday, when they welcomed Anna Mikhailova onto the show to discuss the UK’s politics.
Stephen began as he said that it has been an “extraordinary” 18 months in power for Labour as he continued that this year would be no different. “Even if some are postponed, we still have some local elections coming up. Nigel Farage has said that he is throwing the piggy bank at it and it is looking like it could be a disaster for everybody else.” Anna agreed as she said that in May there will be a “crucial point”. She added: “If Labour loses Wales, if Labour does very badly in Scotland, then we could be looking at a very painful night for the Prime Minister.”

The show’s guest went on: “It looks set to be an extraordinary year in politics. The fortunes of both leaders of the two traditionally main political parties are in doubt.
“So we don’t know if Keir Starmer is going to be leading the Labour party by the end of the year.”
Fans of the show were in agreement that the Labour leader is “in a bit of a pickle” as they urged the government to “do more”.
Posting to X/Twitter, one viewer penned: “Extraordinary? More like a right pickle! They’ll need more than a grin and a fancy speech to win over folks who just want someone to sort the mess out.”
Someone else added: “Kemi’s going in the right direction. Starmer’s going backwards. He’s doing a terrible job and so far he’s broken all his election promises.
“His New Year’s address to the nation was laughable, a wooden, insipid, weaselly word salad that no one, not even his Cabinet, could believe.”
While another person hit out at the Conservative party too, writing: “People have had enough of those two parties. They have wrecked the Uk between them. They don’t deserve to exist.”
