Furious GB News migrant row explodes as Nigel Farage rages ‘Stop this nonsense!’

Nigel Farage discussed the High Court blocking migrant flights on GB News, instantly telling Sir Michael Ellis they need to “stop this nonsense”.

Nigel Farage interrupted his own interview with Former Attorney General Sir Michael Ellis on GB News as he hit out at the “nonsense” row regarding the High Court ruling on deportation flights. Labour’s failed deportation flights sparked backlash, most of all from Conservative MPs, which Farage laughed was “completely extraordinary”.

Farage, who is also the leader of Reform UK, welcomed Former Attorney General Sir Michael Ellis on GB News on Wednesday night to discuss the High Court blocking migrant flights. After Keir Starmer announced plans for migrants arriving via small boat to be “detained and returned to France”, he stated that in exchange for every return, a different person who has been allowed to come via a safe route, who has not tried to enter the UK illegally, would be welcomed.

Farage said: “There were two flights booked for this week, the first with not a single illegal immigrant on it, and the second, the journalists found the plane they were supposed to be on, and not a single illegal immigrant or false asylum seeker – choose your terminology – was on it.”

He said it followed a High Court ruling after a 25-year-old won a last-minute legal claim to temporarily block his removal to France.

Farage said: “What I found completely extraordinary, were representatives of the Conservative Party going around saying, ‘isn’t it dreadful’ when exactly the same thing happened to them, didn’t it Sir Michael Ellis?”

Sir Michael Ellis hit back that the news was “embarrassing”, prompting Farage to state that “Rwanda was embarrassing too”.

In an attempt to defend the Tories, Sir Michael Ellis said Labour didn’t let Rwanda go to fruition, which Farage immediately shut down, telling him: “Let’s stop this nonsense.”

He strongly interrupted Sir Michael Ellis and declared: “Hang on a second, no let’s stop this nonsense. There was ain airplane on the tarmac, with people in it about to go to Rwanda, and at 10pm at night, a judge stopped it.”

After Farage’s reminder of the downfall, Sir Michael Ellis stated: “I’m agreeing with you!”, but referred to the ruling as an “embarrassment”, claiming that the lawyers are “running the ship” regardless of the Government in power.

He claimed the judicial review is “out of control”, adding that politicians have “lost control”.
