Armed police descended on a Hartlepool street today (June 1) after three dogs attacked multiple people, prompting a large-scale emergency response and a significant police cordon. Three German Shepherds have been captured by police at the scene on Sheriff Street in Hartlepool.
Residents within the significant police cordon are being advised to stay indoors and keep their doors closed. The dogs are believed to have escaped from a property on the street before attacking several people. Four people are confirmed to be in hospital after the attacks. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 1.54pm on Sunday 1 June to reports of several people injured in the Sheriff Street area of Hartlepool. We dispatched three ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, and a clinical team leader to the scene.
