Angela Rayner is a disgrace – UK is right to be sick to back teeth of her

The self-styled Queen of the North has been found out.

And so farewell then Angela Rayner, self-styled Red Queen, Queen of the North, champion of the working classes and any other amount of utter schmorroks. In reality she was a chancer, only too happy to stir up class warfare and the politics of envy and oh-so holier than thou. “I’m working class,” she would invariably say in response to any criticism along the lines that it was not seemly for the Deputy Prime Minister to be caught vaping, nor necking booze in Ibiza, nor any of the other innumerable flaws that made it patently clear she was unfit for high office.

But as long as she acted as a buffer between Max Headroom PM and the more left-wing elements of the Labour Party she’d be tolerated until even this crowd of lying incompetent class warriors took time out from trashing the economy and realised that the voters were so disgusted by her that she was a liability and had to go.

I’ve never felt such a visceral dislike of a politician as I do of Rayner. I am all for women achieving the very highest office in the land, but it was post that “Tory scum” outburst that a sense of loathing set in. Here is what she said in full: “We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute vile… banana republic, vile, nasty, Etonian… piece of scum.”

Racist? Look at the Leader of the Opposition and half the front bench. Homophobic? David Cameron introduced gay marriage. Misogynistic? The Tories are on their fourth female leader, Labour, the real home of misogyny, has had none.

Had the Tories described anyone as scum on the grounds they disagreed with them you’d never have heard the end of it and interestingly, she did not add the words “hypocritical” and “tax avoiding” to that little diatribe. Funny that.

Some say that she is being punished for being a gobby working-class woman – oh no she isn’t. Margaret Thatcher, while not quite working class, was the grocer’s daughter and not exactly shy about voicing her opinions and when she was shamefully and inexcusably brought down by her own party it was for very different reasons.

Rayner has been given the chop because she has been found out. She is a disgrace to the Labour Party and the country is sick to death of the sight of her.

Go figure who the electorate thinks is scum now.
