EXCLUSIVE: King Charles and Queen Camilla are completely unfazed by the upcoming release of Spare on paperback and have asked for no mention of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex or the book during their tour.
King Charles and Queen Camilla don’t want any mention of Spare during their tour
The paperback version of Prince Harry‘s memoir Spare will be released this week in the middle of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s tour of Australia and Samoa.
Set for official release in the United States on October 22 and in the UK on October 24, the re-launch of the mudslinger will hit the shelves just as the monarch leaves Down Under for an important visit to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
However, sources reveal that King Charles, 75, and Queen Camilla, 77, are completely unfazed by the upcoming release of the book and have asked for no mention of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex or the paperback during their tour.
“It will be business as usual for the King and Queen during this tour and they don’t want it to be marred by any talk of Harry’s book,” said the source. “It’s so insignificant to them at this point and they’ve got much bigger things to focus on.
“The King is keen for this tour to be a success and it [Harry’s book] is not something that even registers on his radar.”
Penguin Random House revealed in August that the release of the paperback version of Spare will not contain any new bombshells about the Royal Family.
However, the re-release of the book clashes with the King and Queen’s high-profile appearances in Australia and at the CHOGM which many fear was deliberately designed to derail the royals’ important visit.
Despite his ongoing battle with cancer, King Charles has put his treatment on hold to undertake the “key” visit.

As well as claims about Queen Camilla, Harry used his book to highlight an alleged attack by his brother Prince William.
Harry, 40, claimed that William broke his necklace and shoved him into a dog bowl during an explosive row back in 2019.
The Duke also discussed his wife Meghan Markle‘s strained relationship with the Princess of Wales – including Kate’s reaction to Meghan saying that she had “baby brain”.
The paperback version will have the same cover as the original and a newly-designed package but the “contents of the book are unchanged”.
Buckingham Palace have been approached for comment.
