The BBC has been criticised for their latest royal coverage after it were accused of not reporting enough on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the Epstein files. Over the last few weeks, Andrew has dominated royal coverage across the UK, with his name cropping up several times in the Epstein files.
While this does not indicate any wrongdoing, and Andrew denies accusations against him, the files have shown how close Andrew and the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein once were. Although the BBC have run stories on the Epstein files, some believe they have not covered it enough.
This appears to be the view of political journalist Steph Brawn, who wrote in The National that the BBC are covering the rest of the Royal Family news as if nothing has happened.
She wrote: “In fact, if you look at the stories the BBC has done on King Charles recently, there is actually a headline of ‘Heckler booed by crowd as King visits Lancashire’. The news is not the heckler being booed.
“That is purely secondary to the fact that the heckler is there in the first place, so surely THAT is the news?”
Brawn also said: “This approach from the BBC which appears to protect the Royal Family is increasingly looking out-of-touch with the public.
“Yes, there are plenty of negative headlines about Mountbatten-Windsor himself – such as US lawmakers saying he needs to testify – but it feels as if there is then a huge blind spot when all you see about the rest of the institution he was a part of his whole life is smiles, the odd bit of charity work, and William trying out a lightweight mobility scooter.”

The article also included a post on X by Mark Curtis, who wrote: “The BBC’s coverage of William is as you’d expect from any national state propaganda channel.”
The Express has contacted the BBC for comment.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied accusations and wrongdoing surrounding his previous friendship with Epstein.
Appearing in the Epstein files does not indicate any wrongdoing.
