GB News descended into chaos after Labour Party adviser Matthew Laza and Reform UK councillor Laila Cunningham clashed over Peter Mandelson’s scandal. The duo were guests on Patrick Christys’ Tonight, but as they discussed Prime Minister Keir Starmer‘s political future, it resulted in a screaming match with Matthew threatening to walk out. The show spiralled after the host suggested: “If one or two Labour Cabinet ministers go, it takes the pressure off everyone else.”

To which the Labour adviser hit back: “Well, I’m not sure what other Cabinet ministers have to resign for.” As Matthew explained that Sir Keir will be “judged on” the information the Met police has yet to publish, he shut down Laila’s interjection. He then blasted: “I’m not going to take any lectures from Reform about appointing people; their last leader in Wales, who was appointed by Nigel Farage, is in jail for taking money from a foreign power.” As the clash intensified, Matthew raged: “Maybe I’ll just leave.”

This came as Cunningham asked: “Are you comparing a party that was polling at 3% to the government?” to which the Labour adviser hit back: “No, I’m comparing to the judgment of your leader.

As she probed: “Are you trying to justify it …” Matthew interrupted: “Do you want to justify the fact that your former leader, who Nigel appointed, is in jail for taking money from a foreign power, Laila?”

Patrick then asked: “But do you think this is worse?” The political commentator pointed out: “He may go to jail, that’s the point.”

After more back and forth, the politician snapped back: “Are you going to let me speak or are you just going to yell at me the whole time?” To which the host remarked: “Wow!”

Matthew then raged: “I’m sitting here being spoken to like that, so maybe I’ll just leave.”

After the host attempted to calm the debate, the Labour adviser went on: “No, no, I’m not having it.”

Turning to the Reform councillor, he raged: “Laila, you think you’re special, you’re not okay,” before adding: “I will absolutely not be spoken to like that, Patrick.

Forced to interject, the presenter told his guests: “Let’s just all take a minute, we’re 14 minutes into the show.”
