Shooting horror rocks UK town as man rushed to hospital after ‘targeted attack’

An English town was rocked by a shooting on Saturday night. Police were called to Mount View in Sutton Coldfield, shortly before 11.30pm on January 31 to reports of “shots being fired”.

Police officers in attendance at the address found a man in his 20s with “serious gunshot wounds”. He was taken to hospital. West Midlands Police, which said the shooting was believed to be a “targeted attack”, have since launched an investigation into the incident, and are appealing to the public for information.

A statement from the force read: “We are investigating after a man was shot at an address in Sutton Coldfield.

“We were called to Mount View, Sutton Coldfield shortly before 11.30pm last night after reports of shots being fired.

“Officers attended and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious gunshot wounds.

“We are carrying out enquiries in the local area in a number of locations this morning as we work to gather evidence and find the people responsible.

“This is believed to have been a targeted attack and officers will also be in the area providing reassurance.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard what happened.”

No arrest has been made.
