The latest weather maps show most of England will soon be blanketed as snow blizzards are set to hit the country in February.

According to WXCharts, one part of Scotland 97cm of snow on February 8. Scotland, north Wales, the north of England, and the Midlands, will likely be hit by the blizzards. But snow could also affect counties as far south as Gloucestershire, with 22 counties affected.

Scotland is likely to be badly hit again, with some areas in the north facing up to 1m of snow. The north of England (Yorkshire, Lancashire), the maps also show, will face up to 25cm. The wall of snow coming in from the Atlantic, however, could also arrive in the UK sooner than February. Maps show it will stretch more than 200 miles and rapidly make its way across the nation.

Other areas of England will also soon be covered by a weather warning for rain. According to a map issued by the Met Office, the warning will cover Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, but also Cardiff and Swansea in Wales. The full forecast read: “Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, will affect southwest England and southern Wales from Monday evening, through Tuesday morning before clearing to heavy showers later in the day.

“Rainfall totals are expected to reach 20-30 mm widely, with 50-80 mm likely across higher ground, especially Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). With wet conditions prior to this period, the rain will fall onto saturated ground, accentuating flooding impacts in places. Strong southeasterly winds are also likely.”
