One of the UK’s “flagship airlines”, is reportedly days away from going bust.
A UK airline is reportedly teetering on the edge of administration in what would prove to be a major blow for the British travel industry.
Eastern Airways, which flies to Wick and Aberdeen, Humberside, Teeside International, London Gatwick, and Newquay, has lodged a notice of intention to appoint an administrator.
This action provides a temporary 10-day reprieve, preventing creditors from initiating legal proceedings against the company, reports The Sun.
The firm appears to be the go to choice for sports clubs with Premier League superstars often travelling to games on Eastern Airways charter flights.

Reports suggest up to 1.3million passengers could be impacted. The airline launched in 1997 but in recent years, it has seen more and more routes cut.
It operated a wider variety of flights before, such as routes to Gibraltar from Southhampton and Birmingham.
Services to Gibraltar were launched back in 2021 but then axed just a year later. In 2024, the airline also cancelled its route between Cardiff to Paris Orly, France.

On its website, the airline currently has a total of seven destinations listed. All flights could be axed if the airline does not manage to fix its problems.
If you have a flight booked with the airline, there’s a possibility it could get cancelled so it’s important to keep an eye out for any updates.
If it does get cancelled, you’ll need to find and pay for another flight with a different airline.
Daily Express has contacted the airline for comment.
