Shocking moment GB News interrupted by armed police as Patrick Christys faces arrest

GB News’ Patrick Christys was almost arrested while undergoing a major investigation

GB News descended into chaos after presenter Patrick Christys attempted to infiltrate the Chinese embassy in the wake of the Chinese hacking scandal. Earlier this month, it was revealed that a data company which classified government files had been taken into Chinese ownership, after British security services raised an alarm. As a result, the UK’s cyber security agency has issued a stark warning regarding a record surge in serious online attacks, attributing the “significant threat” to Chinese and Russian hackers.

While reporting on this, the GB News presenter aired a clip of himself going undercover outside the Chinese embassy. Wearing a hi-vis vest over his suit, Patrick declared: “It looks as though the Chinese have managed to hack into Government computers and access state secrets with impunity for a very, very long period of time.” But as the new father attempted to enter the building, he was quickly swarmed by armed police and issued a threatening warning.

Patrick continued: “The Chinese spy scandal is really coming to a head now, so what I thought I’d do is turn up here and try to get into the Chinese Embassy to try to have a little look into their computers.

Joined by another person, the presenter approached two security guards at the doors and told them: “Hi lads, how are you? We’re here to have a look at the computers.”

As one questioned the validity of their arrival, Patrick explained: “Yeah, we just a call back to base to say that there’s been an issue with some of the software. I think they should be expecting me.”

However, the unconvinced security guard hit back: “No, they won’t be expecting you, if they did they would let me know.”

But as the GB News star instructed them to “check,” one responded: “They already told me; there’s no news today.”

Refusing to take no for an answer, Patrick continued: “It’s a two-minute job, and once we’re in, we’re in, at the end of the day, aren’t we, forever.”

This prompted the guard to suggest: “If you want, you’re more than welcome to make an appointment online,” to which the TV star lied: “They called us and said that because we’re friends, as British people, it’s not going to be a problem if we’re allowed into their computer systems.”

The presenter followed people entering through a different door in an attempt to hand them a box labelled “not British secrets” and an envelope labelled “top British secrets” to the ambassador.

However, after accepting defeat and leaving the box at the entrance, Patrick revealed: “Since we’ve been here, armed police have turned up,” as he remarked: “Fascinating really, because it would appear we’re guarding Chinese state secrets better than we’re guarding our own.”

Patrick was then approached by an armed police officer who warned: “We’ve had a complaint from the embassy regarding some of the behaviours going on … by trying to gain access into the building, you will be trespassing onto diplomatic premises.”

He replied: “Well that would be awful if someone allowed themselves into diplomatic spaces without permission,” as he said: “I won’t do anything,” before shaking the policeman’s hand and walking off.
