‘Flip-flopper’ Keir Starmer torn apart on GB News with brutal one-line takedown

A guest launched a brutal rant at the Prime Minister after Britain’s historic decision to recognise Palestinian statehood

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been heavily criticised on GB News after he announced on Sunday that the UK would formally recognise the State of Palestine. Jeff Banks accused Keir Starmer of “flip-flopping like a wet kipper on the fishmonger’s slab” over Middle Eastern policy. Speaking on the news programme, Banks argued it is impossible for Starmer to formally recognise the “state of Palestine” because “there isn’t one,” believing that “you can’t trust Hamas.” The UK is joining more than 150 countries in a move intended to preserve prospects for peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Jeff also claimed that the Prime Minister’s latest move represented inconsistent leadership on Israel-Palestine issues.

On GB News, Bank declared: “Israel became the State of Israel. There is no state of Palestine.” He then referenced the 1967 conflict when Egypt and Jordan engaged in warfare against Israel, which Israel subsequently won.

He also noted that Egypt subsequently withdrew from Gaza whilst Jordan departed the West Bank. Banks pointed out that Israeli forces withdrew from Gaza and the West Bank in 2005, allowing Palestinians to govern themselves under what he termed a “licence” arrangement.

“Put it into context, if we had 6,000 terrorists turn up at Glastonbury and do the same thing, there would be outrage. We would have reciprocated in kind,” Banks described in a scenario.

He also argued that Hamas could not be trusted as a negotiating partner and asserted deep scepticism about the chances of meaningful negotiations.

“Until that war is finally prosecuted by Netanyahu, it’s impossible to sit down and have a realistic discussion,” he expressed.

Wading in on Keir Starmer to conclude his argument, he raged: “He’s doing it because of wokeism in Labour and playing to the Muslim vote.” He argued that ideological pressures and electoral considerations within the party have forced Starmer to make his announcement.

Banks also accused the Prime Minister of “whistling to the wind and playing to the gallery” instead of going for genuine diplomatic solutions.
