A debate on GB News quickly turned heated as opinions over the migrant crisis differed. Labour MP Barry Gardiner and Reform UK councillor Laila Cunningham clashed in a tense moment on the news channel as they discussed President Donald Trump’s advice to Sir Keir Starmer on how to deal with the migrant crisis.

Ms Cunningham had a pop at the Labour Party for not keeping the Rwanda scheme, which the Tories came up with, in place. Activist Adam Brooks was also on the show as he warned that he was also “going to go off on one” at Mr Gardiner and his political party as he said they are “not realising the damage illegal immigration is doing to our communities”. He continued: “I am sitting here livid. In Epping, I have been protesting because a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a migrant in our town. We’ve also had this week a homeless asylum seeker found on two school grounds and seen on multiple others.

“We are petrified in Essex because of these illegal immigrants, we have no idea what they’ve been doing. We’ve had about 6,000 in and three out under this new Labour one-in, one-out scheme. It’s pure PR. They do not care.”

Mr Brooks added with a final dig at Labour: “Illegal immigration does not affect the likes of Barry Gardiner and Keir Starmer in their towns.”

But Mr Gardiner was quick to hit back as he blasted: “You’re talking nonsense!” He added that he has more asylum seekers in his constituency compared to Mr Brooks.

Ms Cunningham then angered the Labour politician further as she asked: “Then why don’t you fight for your constituents and stop playing party politics?” He fired back: “How dare you!”

The Reform politician continued to question him, asking: “Why don’t you listen to what they think? Stop playing party politics and take care of your constituents, they voted for you to take care of them.”

Mr Gardiner pointed to his record with his electorate, saying he has won his seat on eight occasions as he strongly denied claims that he is guilty of politicking.
