The broadcaster has hit back at the Labour Mayor of London in a row over the US President’s state visit.
Sir Sadiq Khan was branded “tedious, predictable, and embarrassing” by Piers Morgan after he launched a rant against Donald Trump‘s state visit. The London Mayor claimed that the US President has “fanned the flames” of far-right politics.
He wrote on X: “President Trump has fanned the flames of the far-right. And now a toxic form of politics is spilling out onto our streets. These are dark times, but those who seek to divide us will not win.”
But the broadcaster hit back: “So tedious, predictable, and embarrassing for the Mayor of London to do this every time President Trump comes to town.
“He may get the ‘likes’ he craves from the woke brigade, but I suspect a lot of Londoners would much prefer Trump to Khan tackling issues like crime in London.”
Sir Sadiq has been embroiled in a long-running war of words with the US President.
During his first state visit, Mr Trump called Sir Sadiq a “stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London”.
The London Mayor warned after Mr Trump won his second term in the White House that many Londoners would be “fearful” about what it would “mean for democracy”.

It comes after Mr Trump arrived in the UK for his second state visit last night.
Speaking after he landed, the US President said he “loves” the UK.
“I have a lot of things here that warm my heart,” he said. “I want to tell you. It’s a very special place.”
The American leader will be hosted by the King at Windsor Castle today before heading to the Prime Minister’s country residence Chequers tomorrow.
