Fuming GMB fans all have same complaint over Wes Streeting interview ‘Load of rubbish’.uk

Good Morning Britain viewers ripped into Wes Streeting as he discussed the government’s 10-year plan for the NHS.

ITV viewers issued the same complaint as Wes Streeting appeared on Good Morning Britain. The health secretary joined presenters Ed Balls and Kate Garraway on Thursday’s (July 3) instalment of the programme to discuss the government’s 10-year plan for the NHS. The politician agreed it is going to cost plenty of money as he told the hosts: “That’s why the decisions taken by the chancellor to give us the extra investment that we need – an extra £29 billion to invest and reform our national health service because the tragedy of the NHS that we see today is that we’re paying more and more for a poorer service.

“People are not getting the right care in the right place at the right time. That’s worse for them in terms of their experience as patients. It’s also more expensive for the taxpayer. So reinventing the NHS as a neighbourhood health service as much as a national health service will be better for the patient and a more efficient use of taxpayer’s money.”

Viewers flocked to share their thoughts on the interview, with several pointing out flaws in Labour’s plans.

One wrote: “I’m all for more community care but rather than expensive hubs surely the better option for patients would be treatment in their own homes? It would be far cheaper to run and keep patients safer from catching hospital acquired infections. Why aren’t drs surgeries not being used?”

A second fumed: “How can he justify a ’25 week +wait’ for a consultation then same wait after for treatment of any kind. This is inhumane, this is not care, shouldn’t be post code lottery, shouldn’t be when we accept newcomers by the thousands every month who get care quicker.”

Another posted: “If only we didn’t give most of the taxpayers money abroad and towards the so called climate change. We wouldn’t need to worry about the nhs being funded or the welfare pip. Manage the money for the people of the UK and you might just get some confidence back from the public.”

A fourth confused fan asked: “So is he shutting a whole load of GP surgery’s to do this? People living in rural areas won’t like this as it’s likely they will have to travel further.”

Meanwhile someone else branded it “a load of rubbish”. However others were in support of Streeting’s appearance as one declared: “Brilliant Wes Streeting this morning.”

Another posted: “I work for the NHS. I trust him to do his job.”
