Rachel Reeves is without doubt THE worst chancellor Britain has ever had – not to mention the most dangerous. Because what she did this week can’t ever be described as a public spending review – it was a rash, reckless, dangerous splurge of money that has put Britain firmly on the road to financial Armageddon.

And there’s no way back because the woman is so grossly incompetent, so delusional she simply refuses to see it and by the time she’s finished with us Britain will be a skint, Third World country that no-one will lend money to! In less than a year this crazed woman has maxed out Britain’s credit card – yet she’s still spending money we don’t have.

Despite all the lies and exaggerations on her CV surely even Rachel from Accounts knows that if you’re in debt you have to cut your cloth, make savings, bring down the debt.

But No, Reckless Rachel is doing what Labour always does – she’s just spending knowing that whichever Government follows this one will have to pick up her tab.

I don’t know about you, but I find it utterly terrifying that this country is being run by people who really have no idea what they are doing. I know that’s something people say all the time about those who might not be performing as well as they should. But in Reeves cases it’s the truth.

She’s utterly clueless about how to run an economy. Yes, we all know she worked for the Bank of England and HBOS (she’s told us often enough) but never as an accountant. She only ever rose to the to the lowly heights of Head of Planning, Head of Mortgages and Head Customer Relations – none of which qualify her to run Britain’s economy. And by God don’t we know it?

Reeves is not the calibre of person who should be running the British economy firstly, because she’s blatantly not up to it and second, because people who lie about what they do to get a job shouldn’t really be trusted in a position of power because they will abuse it. And Reeves is doing exactly that.

She should never have been let near the Chancellor’s job and the catastrophic mess she’s created in just a year is proof of that.

Yet still, Starmer allows her to stay in position to brandish her wrecking ball, to talk her fantasy nonsense and to make fools of the British people by lying to us.

But its Reeves’s self-delusion that’s truly terrifying. She stood up in the Commons this week and proudly said: “We have removed the barriers to growth and improved stability.”

What growth??? What stability. There isn’t any of either – thanks to her. Since her budget last July 250,000 jobs have disappeared courtesy of her punishing National Insurance tax rises. The Bank of England has downgraded its growth forecast from 1.5% to 0.7%.

Unemployment is up 10%. Inflation has almost doubled to 3.5% and the Office for Budget Responsibility has cut its growth estimate in half from 2% to just 1%.

On top of all that manufacturing has seen the sharpest drop in orders in 19 months. And the national debt is surging with gilt yields higher than they were under Liz Truss.

Yet dopey Rachel stood up in Parliament this week with a smug, self-satisfied smile on her face insisting that she’s single handedly stabilised the economy.

That kind of self-deception would lead people to believe that Ms Reeves is mentally unwell. In fact, if she was chancellor in any other country she’d have been carted off in by the men in white coats by now for a long period of rest and recouperation.

What actual planet is she living on if she believes what she’s done has made Britain stable when all the evidence says the opposite?

Every analyst, every think tank is screaming that she’s trashing business and the economy, but Reeves is point blank refusing to listen because in her empty air-head she’s convinced herself we’re doing brilliantly.

But how the Hell can we be? We’ve borrowed so much under this Labour Government that interest repayments alone are ONE BILLION pounds a year. And however visceral the bond markets were in reacting to Liz Truss’ budget they see that Rachel’s capacity to damage is in a different stratosphere.

It’s thanks to her that bond yields – whose soaring prices collapsed Truss Government – are now the highest among the largest G7 economies.

Reeves even ludicrously claims the Bank of England interest rate cuts are down to her – when they’re actually in spite of her. The Bank would have been able to cut harder and faster had it not been for her loony-tunes policies.

So, if every expert in the land can see through Reeves’ drivel why can’t the man in charge, Kier Starmer? Is he just as clueless as she is or is he keeping her in position so that when the dog dirt hits the fan and this country goes down the tubes, he can say it’s all her fault not his?

We really are being led by donkeys but in terms of incompetence Reeves is in a class of her own. She’s pushing Britain headlong into fiscal disaster the like of which we haven’t seen for decades.

And the one man (Starmer) who can do something to stop her – has his head in the sand, his fingers in his ears and is singing “la la la”.

So Reeves WILL go on wrecking a country whose economy was stable before she got her hands on it and we’ll all have no choice but to sit helplessly by and watch as our jobs, our savings, our future and this country’s reputation go to Hell in a handcart.
