Deputy Leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice, appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain but the set erupted into chaos as he came to blows with the hosts.
The hosts of Good Morning Britain came to blows with Deputy Leader of Reform UK, Richard Tice, on Wednesday as Ed Balls warned him “don’t patronise me” and Susanna Reid urged him to answer her questions properly. The MP was on the ITV show to discuss local elections, where he thinks Reform UK should come out on top as he blamed Labour and Conservatives for many of the country’s problems.
Susanna pointed out that the politician and his party are a “protest party” and that their message to voters is: “If you are tired of the other two parties, then vote for us.” She asked: “If you’re not just a protest party and you’re saying don’t vote for them, vote for us, what can you point to in local government that you have achieved?”

He replied: “What we point to is the failure of the existing two parties…” Susanna suddenly interrupted as she scolded him, saying: “Sorry, no. That wasn’t my question.” Mr Tice replied once more but again skirted around what the ITV host was asking, resulting in her stopping him once more to ask: “What have you achieved?”
“What we have achieved is giving the people the opportunity to say ‘we’re done with the two main parties’. Someone else has got to come in, save some money and audit the finances and sort things out. We can’t keep spending more than we are earning and expect it to end well,” he responded.
Ed then chimed in as he stated: “We are asking you about what you have done and you are saying that the others have failed. And that’s what protest parties do.” He added: “You have always been a politician who has said that the Tories have lost their way and you will be a better version of the Conservative party. Is that right?”

The politician went on to explain that they are very different, and even have similar views as Labour’s Tony Blair on some issues. Susanna very firmly stepped in as she said: “I would just like to point out that Tony Blair, I’m sure, does not agree with Reform UK on your policies.”
Ed and the politician then shouted over each other as Mr Tice continued to skirt his way around questions. At one point, as Ed was skewering him for answers, the politician sighed: “My dear Ed.” But the presenter did not like that as he fumed: “Do not patronise me!”
The men continued to shout over each other as Ed fired question after question about the costs of nationalising British Steel and Mr Tice could not provide the answers so repeatedly tried to turn the discussion elsewhere.
In the end Ed demanded that the politician make a return to the ITV breakfast show when he has all of the information to answer the questions available.
